Abstract :
Field trials at 836 MHz in a suburban area were carried out, using a spectrum analyzer as the acquisition apparatus. The empirical probability density function (PDF) and level crossing rate (LCR) statistics calculated from the recorded envelopes were then compared to the corresponding closed-form expressions for the Nakagami fading. Good fit between empirical and theoretical curves were found for most data set. Also, there seem to be an independence of the goodness of fit for second-order statistics (LCR) when compared to the accuracy of fit for first-order statistics (PDF).
