Abstract
Current state and trends in the microelectronic systems education in Slovakia is presented. The situation in the Central and Eastern European countries is also described. Globalization of the world and the educational and research programs of European Community affects the curricula in microelectronic systems education in the above mentioned countries strongly. The traditionally high level of theoretical background combined with modern professional design tools and access to advanced industrial vendors via Eurochip and Europractice enables the education of microelectronics engineers who are fully competitive with their colleagues in highly developed countries
