Abstract
We consider problems of performance evaluation and real-time control in high-performance computer-based tracking systems. For most models with various forms of flow control or load sharing policies, closed-form solutions are not available. One can, however, apply stochastic optimization algorithms using sensitivity estimates obtained on-line. We present one application of a recently proposed technique for obtaining such estimates; this technique does not require knowledge of the actual system operating parameters.
