Abstract
BioANS is a protocol for wireless sensor networks (WSN) whose design is inspired by organisation mechanisms observed in nature. It enables an information requester to access data from a sensor network which meets a qualitative criterion based on context in an efficient manner. A model of BioANS is used to simulate the performance of the protocol in a variety of possible WSN deployments.
