Abstract :
This communication presents a novel and simple circularly polarized (CP) antenna constructed by an elliptical cavity and a dipole exciter for 60 GHz wireless personal area network (WPAN) applications. The simulated 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth is 27.1%, from 51 to 67 GHz, in which the standing-wave ratio (SWR) is kept below 2. Meanwhile, the broadside gain is varied from 5 to 10 dBi.
