Abstract :
Displays are indispensable in our daily life. Liquid crystal displays (LCD) are the dominant display technology at present. All kinds of high quality and high definition LCDs are available as computer monitors and flat panel televisions. There is much research and development going on in display technologies. At the same time, new products are being deployed that make use of these new technologies. The article presents a list a few of the new display technologies being developed namely - transparent oxide thin film transistors, organic light emitting diodes, 3D displays, and high power laser diodes.
