An S-FSK power line carrier modem for utility AMR applications

Electric utility companies are giving more attention to the remote control and monitoring of vital network components by using the transmission capability of the power distribution network itself. In this paper, the realisation of an integrated modem chip for power line carrier technology is presented. The circuit, which is mainly digital, integrates the digital hardware blocks, the microprocessor and its software and the analog front end.
