  • Abstract
    Integration of wind turbine and UPQC (unified power quality conditioner) results in providing active power for UPQC to solve deep voltage sag and voltage interruption and also transferring generated power of wind turbine to the network. In this paper, the possibility of active power control is added to the control system of series and shunt parts of UPQC, so that delivering of active power via each part can be managed. Putting the series part at the load side leads to the complete compensation of reactive power and improving UPQC´s operation in voltage interruption condition. In our study, a VSC (Voltage Source Converter) is used as a rectifier at the output of the generator and is controlled so that the maximum available power is extracted from variable speed wind turbine. Finally, some simulations are performed by MATALB software to verify the advantages of proposed system.
