Abstract :
Real time registration is a kernel technology for Outdoor Augmented Reality (AR) System, it keeps as a challenging problem yet. We combine 3D GIS (3-Dimensional Geographical Information System) with Outdoor AR, and try to convert this challenging problem to be a matching problem between real view and 3D virtual model. We proposed to divide the registration process into two steps: coarse registration with sensors data and fine registration by interactive process. In order to realize the fine registration, we proposed an interactive method rely on the linear characteristics of the system, which we obtained by analyzing the relationship of artificial input and visual output. As a supplementary, we give a result from the experiment to show that the method can reach a fine registration without vision tracking.
