Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce and produce a simple, non-contact and inexpensive sensitive optical instrument aimed to detect cracks, velocities and vibrations on the surface of a rotating aircraft engine shafts. The detected signals are sent through a single fiber optical cable to a data processor to measure the velocities and to oscilloscope to measure the cracks and vibrations. This produced instrument gives a high signal to noise ratio compared to others
