Abstract
While getting a job is becoming increasingly difficult for many Europeans, it is particularly hard for women, and even more so in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) related jobs. The lack of opportunities for woman in the ICT area is one of the main issues addressed by the European Community Political Sphere, just at a time when teleworking is spreading all over the European Union. Telework has both advantages and disadvantages for women. As a great advantage telework can bring flexibility to women´s working schedules and work places. However, women who decide to telework may be tempted to stay at home. This a major disadvantage because women would then be away from decision making positions, thus broadening the gap with men in the corporate world
