Abstract
Database system based on VB was developed by collecting the investigation and testing data of endemic area in the West of Jilin Province. The water quality assessment module of the system was applied to assess the drinking water safety. The results show that the groundwater quality in this area is mainly level IV and V, and taking up 68.99% of all the samples. The reason of the poor water quality is primarily high fluoride and arsenic concentrations. Establishment and application of database system provided an effective management tool for convenient and real-time monitoring of the disease condition and changes of geochemistry component and quantitative determining the groundwater quality condition.
