Abstract :
The discrimination between neutrons and gamma rays in liquid scintillators has been investigated in this paper. We analyzed the scintillation mechanism in liquid scintillators and provided a review of the conventional analogue discrimination techniques of neutrons and gamma rays (n/γ) and recent digital n/γ discrimination techniques. The principle and feature of each technique have been expounded. In conclusion the significant advantages of the digital n/γ discrimination techniques over the analog techniques have been summarized.
