Adaptive control of grid frequency should be incorporated into today Iran management system given the increase in the capacity of gas turbine and combined cycle power plants and the future projects of power industry for developing these power plants. This paper present a study of change in dynamic response of the combined cycle power plants in response to change in the grid frequency An accurate simulink model which includes the Turbine, Governor, compressor. Speed control and exhaust temperature control systems is utilized for this study. Finally the simulation results are compared with a real test that accomplished in a combined cycle power plant and we analyze the problems of combined cycle power plants in controlling the frequency of the grid.
