  • Abstract
The fundamental purpose of reliability centred maintenance (RCM) at Florida Power Corporation (FPC) is to increase reliability, optimize operating costs, and extend the useful life of its bulk power assets. At Florida Power, reliability centered maintenance (RCM) program is dependent on a condition assessment of the asset. The program is based on an automated CMMS application with ability to: identify and organize system equipment groups and components; include equipment and maintenance activity costs; record a complete maintenance history and condition of specific equipment; trigger and rank maintenance tasks based on a condition assessment; and to link to other databases and corporate systems for “intelligent decision making”
