  • Abstract
Key management information systems (MIS) issues in the US are compared to those in India. The important MIS issues in India are more operational in nature compared to the issues in the US, which are more strategic. Specifically, various critical issues such as the education of managers and MIS personnel, lack of human resources, and problems of hardware, software and data were ranked in order of importance by knowledgeable groups in the two countries. They consisted of top-level and middle-level Indian managers knowledgeable in computers and MIS, US information system executives and corporate general managers
