Abstract
This paper describes the design methodology of a 500 kHz zero-voltage-transition (ZVT) PWM forward converter for a DC distributed power system. The DC analysis of the forward ZVT-PWM converter is presented. The voltage conversion ratio characteristics and the voltage and current stresses of the main components are characterised. The results of the analysis are verified by experiments and simulation. Based on the analysis, a procedure for designing the converter is established
