Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
MMC (modular multilevel converter) is a voltage converter with good character, such as low harmonic, no additional filters and transformers, suitable for modular produce etc. However, due to the bridge arm of MMC cascading multiple sub-modules, balance control of the sub-module is needed, and the balance between the various sub-module control systems affect the normal operation of MMC largely. This paper presents an optimized carrier phase SPWM modulation strategy and the sub-module capacitor voltage balance control strategies. The feasibility and effectiveness of control strategy proposed was proved with the simulation result by PCAD / EMTDC.
