Abstract
Recent years, millimeter wave especially 60GHz wireless communication technology becomes a hot topic either in academy or in industry. International standards for different application scenarios, such as IEEE 802.11ad et cetera, have been released. In China, the millimeter wave frequency band of 59-64 GHz has also been assigned for developing the Chinese 60GHz wireless communication systems. In 2010, a new millimeter wave wireless communication standard was proposed by the authors and named as Q-LINKPAN, in which Q means Q-band, LINKPAN means it can support both point-to-point high data rate communication (Q-LINKPAN-L) and short range high speed wireless access (Q-LINKPAN-S). In September, 2012, it was included in IEEE802.11aj (45GHz). This talk will focus on the research advance in CMOS ICs for the proposed Q-LINKPAN or IEEE802.11aj(45GHz) standard.
