  • Abstract
It is important to study on non-fault detection before reclosing for single-phase reclosure, which is helpful to lower unsuccessful reclosing rate and meet the increasing requirement on self-healing ability in smart grid. Some researchers have developed single-phase long-hold faults identification criterion based on differential current principle, for the open phases in faulting and non-fault are considered as internal fault and external fault respectively. But the distributed capacitive current compensation is influenced by the fault location. Especially in the case of the fault location near to bus at each side of the transmission line, the capacitive current compensation method is not effective for the distance side. Therefore, a distributed capacitive current compensation based on fault location is discussed for non-fault detection of single-phase reclosure. ATP simulations show that the developed criterion based on fault location is of higher sensitivity and reliability.
