First measurement results of a gray-code current-mode ADC

This paper reports the rst measurement results of a Gray-code current-mode analog-to-digital converter. The converter architecture is designed to be included into each cell of a Cellular Nonlinear Network (CNN) type mixed-mode array processor system, for image processing. In the targeted application the most important requirements for the converter are small implementation area and low power consumption. Transient performance should be suf cient to ensure adequate speed of operation, however the converter inputs are static during conversion. The measurement results con rm correct operation of the converter.
