Abstract :
In this paper an iterative method of accurate round-trip delay-time (RTDT) estimation is presented. Using this method, it is possible to take imperfections like amplitude and phase distortions into account and avoid biased RTDT estimates. Those accurate RTDT estimates are a prerequisite for precise grid estimation of pulse position coded surface acoustic wave tags as a fundament for further identification and the possibility of a grid refinement and/or larger reading ranges.
