Abstract
Results on the crosstalk degradation effect in wavelength-division multiaccess (WDMA) networks with Fabry-Perot (FP) and Mach-Zehnder (MZ) filters and its dependence on the number of users M, the finesse F (for FP filters), the channel spacing Delta f, and the user data rate 1/T are summarized. The system consists of M synchronous, equi-spaced channels in a system bandwidth determined by the period of the optical filter. The crosstalk degradation is characterized in terms of the optical filter output energy and its dependence on the data pattern of the M-1 interfering users.<>
