Abstract :
This paper presents new results of high rejection Impedance Elements (IE) SAW filters in the 400-900 MHz frequency range realised on quartz and 42°-LiTaO3 substrates. Three different filters are used as examples of what can be achieved for various types of structures. For example a rejection level of better that 55 dB was achieved in a 5×5mm2 SMD package for a filter at 465 MHz with insertion loss as low as 1.5 dB. The paper describes some important design issues which make it possible to achieve such high rejection levels
