Abstract
Electric Vehicles (EVs) are developing increasingly in recent years due to many associated economic and environmental factors. When connected to distribution grid, EVs may be considered both as active loads and energy storage devices, which will have different and significant impacts on the distribution system. This paper surveys the present situation of the researches on these impacts. Other aspects such as effects on grid stability and effects when power system occurs fault are also included. The features and defects of existing studies are pointed out. The conclusion of this paper is available for reference to the research on the impact of EVs on distribution grid in the future.
