  • Abstract
This article deals with the gas insulated substations (GIS), gas insulated lines (GIL), and sulfurhexafluoride (SF6) insulating gas. The tutorial on GIS, GIL and SF6 was made to bring the experience and knowledge of major manufacturers, and utilities together on a world wide basis. The main purpose is to inform todays or tomorrows user of GIS, GIL and SF6 technology about the state of the art and collected experiences. The home of the tutorial is the GIS Subcommittee of the PES Substations Committee.
