Abstract :
In this paper the different views given by various researchers about OSS reliability have been analysed. Some maintain that OSS is reliable while the others do not agree with the same. The mean value functions of various Software Reliability Growth Models (SRGM) have been presented. We state and analyse various factors on which software reliability depends. We study the Inflection S-shaped model, the Goel-Okumoto model and Musa-Okumoto model. Different models can be compared based on based on five statistical, parameters as the evaluation criteria. The analysis based on the evaluation criteria, for five real time open-source projects has been done to compare the above said models.
