Abstract
The advantages of multiple beam klystrons (MBK) for consumers are low operating voltage with high power and efficiency at wide instantaneous bandwidth. The features of MBK for designers are low individual beam perveance, together with low total electron stream resistance. That helps obtain the high electronic and circuit efficiency. At the same time MBKs have difficulties in design. Some remedies are indicated. In spite of these difficulties, the author produced very successful low-voltage long-life MBKs for radar and communications applications
