Abstract
A multiple-input buck-boost converter is used to combine a photovoltaic source with a secondary source to meet the load requirement. A maximum power point tracking technique called ripple correlation control is used to maximize the power out of the photovoltaic source. The output voltage of the converter is simultaneously regulated using a simple proportional-integral feedback controller. Ideal steady-state equations are developed for duty cycles of the converter. Experimental results are compared to the ideal formulation in a power budgeting application
