  • Abstract
In extended intensive electron beams it is possible to get excitation and spreading waves of different types. Of all the wave types the most important are the waves of space charge. Their investigation is of great interest both in practical application (microwave devices, wave methods of ion collective acceleration and others) and in study of fundamental problems, such as instability in beams of charged particles. In this work the results of physical experiment, devoted to investigation of linear and nonlinear waves of space charge in extended electric beams, drifting in longitudinal magnetic field are given. The physical experiment determines the spheres of application of different models used for description of waves in electron beams
