Abstract
The paper describes preliminary results of the European ACTS project “Broadband Trial Integration” related to provision a distant access to a multimedia database supporting an IP/RSVP protocol stack. One of the main goals of the ACTS project AC362, BTI, is to implement a software/hardware platform delivering a video stream for a distant learning multimedia application. The implemented system is based on Oracle Video Server and Oracle Database Server technologies providing a capability of searching and retrieving a content archived in an MPEG Movie database
