Abstract :
In order to research the application of all-optical nonlinear signal processing techniques based on the fiber nonlinear optical loop mirror on the optical communication systems, the technique for all optical passive 2R regeneration of RZ-OOK signals was studied in depth. Firstly, the development, application and performance of all-optical approach were summarized. Then configuration and operation principle of the NOLM were studied. Ultra long-distance 40-Gb/s transmission was put forward. A case study about application in 40-Gb/s all-optical networks was discussed at last.
