Abstract
The decision feedback equalization (DFE) is one of major methods of channel equalization. The Hammerstein filter has been used in DFE instead of DFE coefficients for enhancing the performance of DFE named as HDFE showing better bit error rate (BER) performance in comparison with DFE. This method is generalized by shifting all Hammerstein filter from the branches to the decision branch. The shifted Hammerstein filter in decision branch modifies decision function. The simulated method is proposed and compared with the DFE, showing better BER performance. GSM framework that is currently the most successful system of digital cellular standards is used for this investigation.
