Abstract :
In this paper, a novel foldable multifunctional planar antenna array is proposed. It provides two modes; diversity and directivity modes. Each mode is switched by folding and unfolding the proposed antenna array. For the diversity mode, four antenna elements are placed for MIMO applications. When the antenna array is folded, its function is changed to the directivity mode and it works as a planar Yagi-Uda antenna. The simulation and measurement results are shown in order to demonstrate two modes are properly working at 2.4 GHz.
