Abstract :
This paper presents a new model for representing the instantaneous magnetization characteristics of transformers by taking into account only the rms voltage, current and no-load losses values. These values are easy to obtain from measurements. The model takes into account the magnetization history. The paper gives a simple procedure to build the saturation curve and the hysteresis loops of transformer iron core. By using the proposed model, this paper presents the applications to calculate inrush current and study ferroresonance phenomenon in three-phase transformers
