Abstract :
A novel fractal slot antenna is optimized using an interpolation technique. The antenna is simulated by the Ansoft HFSS based on the finite element method. A technique using interpolation method is presented to optimize the bandwidth of a new fractal slot antenna. Simulation results show that the Spline and Linear methods of interpolation are a good agreement between the results obtained by the proposed method and the simulated software. The proposed method introduces the accuracy as well as flexibility and simplicity. Measured results indicate that a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of 2.42 GHz is achieved at operating frequencies from 2.33 to 4.75 GHz. The good radiation characteristics of the constructed prototype antenna are also shown in this article.
