Abstract
A description is given of a knowledge-based approach to the error recovery problem, applied to real cases. Practical results are presented and discussed. The error recovery system was implemented in OPS5/VMS on a VAX 750 and tested for two cases. The first one is an electrical signaling relay subassembly; the second one is a weapon subassembly. The average duration for each operation of the recovery task is about 10 s. The generic expertise is the same for these two different applications
