Abstract
This paper analyzes bit error rate (BER) performance of a multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) communication systems using antenna selection in the transmitter, maximum ratio combining (MRC) and linear de-correlating detector (LDD) in the receiver in a down link CDMA network over correlated Nakagami fading channels. The MRC maximizes signal to noise ratio of the received signal, then the LDD cancels out multiple access interference (MAI). Theoretical results are validated using computer simulations. Moreover, a pilot based estimation method is proposed to jointly estimate channel gains and rows of the LDD operator. Simulation results show that with proposed joint estimation of the channel and rows of the LDD operator, diversity order maintained in the receiver.
