Abstract :
The image registration is a key stage in almost every vision system. In this article we propose a new algorithm inspired from both genetic algorithms and quantum computing fields to perform an image registration based on computation of the mutual information, which is a measure of similarity brought from the information theory. Having two images obtained from either similar or different sensors, the proposed algorithm allows the estimating of the geometric transformation, which superposes the two images.
