Abstract :
The focus of this paper is to present a System-on-Programmable-Chip (SoPC) solution, including several heterogeneous cores, for synchronous motor control. The implemented controller is based on Actel Fusion Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) integrating Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), hardware architectures and software architectures with a μProcessors. The performance evaluation of the proposed fully integrated solution, for real time control applications, is detailed. The current control algorithm is based on hysteresis regulator. A Resolver Processing Unit (RPU), which computes the rotor position and speed from the resolver sensor, is developed. The analog to digital conversion is ensured by an integrated ADC avoiding the use of external converters. To evaluate the integration performance of used SoPC, two implementation schemes are described. The first control scheme is implemented entirely on FPGA matrix. The second is based on mixed solution dividing the controller into hardware and software components. These control schemes are detailed and tested on the same test-bench and experimental results emphasize the performance of the integrated solution.
