  • Abstract
Wireless broadband technologies operating in the 60 GHz range are currently reaching a mature state. Devices with wireless high definition multimedia interfaces (HDMI), operating at 60 GHz, are already commercially available and standards supporting high bit rate operation at 60 GHz, both for personal area networks (PANs) and local area networks (LANs) have already been approved. The widely available fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network can be a cost-effective solution for delivering 60 GHz broadband signals transparently in their native format. In this paper, we discuss this approach identifying its major advantages and limitations.
