Abstract :
With the dire state of budget cuts in industry, there is a necessity to cut as many non-essential features as possible from projects. unfortunately, over two thirds of companies follow requirements practices which make project success improbable. this leaves organizations with a challenge of deciding which features to cut from their software projects without having a systematic approach to do so. this paper proposes a method to use business objectives to select the features that add the most value. business objectives are vital for businesses to help determine which features can be cut from project scope because they do not contribute significantly to the business value. once business objectives are determined, they can be used in a systematic approach to assess the measurable value of individual features, thereby determining the most important scope to develop.
