  • Abstract
    This paper describes the lightweight and cost-effective encryption method based on the strength and weakness of several MPEG encryption methods. The statistical structure of a plaintext (video) should be disintegrated into long range of statistics of the ciphertext (encrypted video) by applying diffusion and confusion. This notion is used in generating the XOR template, where the key is XOR-ed with partial of the macroblock data to produce the "strong" template. Experiments have been carried out to examine the performance based on the encryption and decryption execution time, and the size of the MPEG file before and after encryption.
