Abstract :
For the purpose of a detailed analysis of the interaction between induction motors and various inverter structures a simulation motor model has been developed. Simulation is thought to be a potent design tool, especially in the case of new systems where parameter variation should be easily assessed. Coupled circuit modelling was chosen to allow for any winding configuration to be considered. Special care in parameter calculation was taken with the aim of closely relating model parameters to motor dimensions. Emphasis is given to the approach in parameter calculation and validation was realized by means of experimental results
