  • Abstract
The importance of new image compression methods is still significant especially considering new imaging technologies such as stereo and multiview video. High compression efficiency can be achieved only by lossy compression where image quality assessment is very important but hard to implement by machine vision. Subjective image quality is determined by several factors such as where we look on the image, what is the sensitivity to different distortions, and what is the final resultant general opinion about the whole image. It is already known that there are special effects in the perception of image distortions in stereo images. In our paper we investigate the distribution of fixation points in stereo images compared to the mono view of the same images. Found differences to the mono case are statistically analyzed.
