  • Abstract
    The paper suggests the main design guidelines for compound storing systems with electrochemical batteries and supercapacitors for ropeways. The sizing procedure involve the reduction of both energy costs and peak power demands. The designing procedure of the storage system is derived from theoretical considerations. It leads to evaluate the ratings of all devices capable of satisfying the load requirements. Economical aspects are reported with the aim of quantifying the additional costs and the possible savings of such a system in ropeways.
