Abstract :
A tri-plate ring-slot antenna (RSA) for the MM-wave frequency band has been developed. The RSA was analyzed by the full-wave method and the design optimized by the method of moments software. The lift-off process was adopted to increase the accuracy of the fabrication. The double sided lift-off process was developed to fabricate the tri-plate structure. Radiation patterns and return loss of the antenna were studied at 60 GHz by using a waveguide to stripline transition developed for the stripline feeding structure. As an example, radiation patterns of the 2nd mode RSA with 4-port feed are presented.
