Abstract
This paper shows that the previously-reported eccentric behaviors of current-mode-controlled dc-to-dc converters combined with an input filter stage can be systematically described by means of the general analysis methodology for input filter interaction. This paper also shows that each of three basic current-mode-controlled dc-to-dc converters (buck, boost, and buck/boost converter) has a unique pattern of dynamic interaction with an input filter stage, resulting in markedly different small-signal dynamics from those of the other converters. Theoretical predictions of the paper are supported by both experimental results and computer simulations
