Abstract :
We devise a new class of space-time code (STC) scheme named generalized diversity embedded block code (GDEBC) for a large number of transmit antennas. It can be used as a distributed STC (DSTC) scheme especially for multiuser cooperation to extend the maximal usable relays. A two-phase model for multiuser cooperation networks is utilized in this paper. The messages of multiple users are time divided. The constructions of GDEBC are introduced in detail by examples. We prove that one information stream has high reliability by computer search, and show the design flexibility of other streams. The pairwise error probability (PEP) is analyzed for the network when employing GDEBC. According to analysis of the Chernoff upper bound on the PEP, we conclude that the rank criterion introduced by Tarokh for STC in multiple-antenna systems still works for GDEBC in the amplify-and-forward (AF) mode of multiuser cooperation networks.
