Abstract

The theory of group awareness and the realization skill is an absolutely necessarily portion in Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). After analyzing the research state of the theory of group awareness at the present time and studying the research result on Multi-Agent technology, the Multi-Agent technology is put forward to be used in group awareness in CSCW system. A Multi-Agent Based Group Awareness Model is building-up in this paper. Three type of Agents that Management Agent, Interactive Agent, and Model Agent are designed in this model. The Model Agent includes five kind Agents too. These Agents exchange information or invoke others in the CSCW system and the final of that is proved to be more accurate and flexible in describing the dynamic process and regularities of tasks, roles and actions in real-life.
